Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture Company Limited (NPQJVLC) is located in Haiyan County of Zhejiang province. The company grew out of "Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture" which was set up on July 20th, 1998, and it was reformed according to "corporation law" in 1995,and renamed Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture Company Limited in 1996. It's jointly invested by China Nuclear Industry Corporation, Zhejiang Provincial Electric Power Company,Shenneng(Groups) Company Ltd., Jiangsu International Trust and Investment corporation, State Power East China Company and Anhui Energy Investment Corporation. Its registered capital is 2.4 billion. 67% of its 788 staff reached college level or above. It adopts the General Manager Responsible Systems under the leadership of board of directors.

Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture Company Limited, the owner, is mainly in charge of project management during construction of Qinshan Nuclear Power Project Phase II and operation and management of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant II after connecting to the grid.

Qinshan Nuclear Power Project Phase II consists of 2 pressurized water reactors with designed capacity of 600MW(the actual capacity is 650MW). The total investment of the plant is 14.8 billion Yuan, and its designed lifetime is 40 years.

The Unit I was started on June 2nd, 1996, assembled the containment dome on November 10th,1998. The hydrotest for reactor coolant systems and the first fuel loading were completed on March 3rd, 2001 and October 16th, 2001 respectively.It was successfully connected to the grid on February 6th, 2002 and started commercial operation on April 15th, 2002, 47days ahead of the schedule. The Unit II which was started on March 23rd, 1997 and assembled the dome on September 14th, 1999 is now being constructed.
